And Sony has been lowering the price by altering production.
Think about it, every time the price was cut it was because they modified the system in some shape or form. And as a result, the ps3 is slowly becoming less expensive to make. When they find a way to make production less expensive again, THEN we'll see a price drop. Not before
But with all their "no-no's" look how big their fanbase is. Look how much they sold. Look how much people are anticipating the next installment.
So they must be doing something right

I've always hated split screen because I never like sharing have my screen (thereby cutting off some of my vision) with others. Not to mention in a competitive game, you can try to cheat each other and watch each others moves. So when consoles introduced online gaming I was happy.
